Snapshot of a Typical Day
How might an average day be with Extreme Mayan Adventures?
All of our travel packages vary based on the individual desires and needs of our visitors and what is happening in the community when they arrive, so there is no schedule set in stone. That said, however, a typical day might look something like this:
- 8:00 - 9:00 morning chores
- split firewood
- help make a cooking fire
- help with the preparation of breakfast
- 9:00 - 9:45 breakfast
- 9:45 - 10:00 walk to the Kaqchikel language teacher's home
- 10:00 - 11:00 Kaqchikel language instruction
- 11:00 - 2:00 learning of a Mayan job or tradition
- 2:00 - 3:00 lunch
- 3:00 - 5:00 cultural trip or learning of a Mayan job or tradition
- sacred caves in San Jorge
- visit with a shaman
- visit Maximon (Saint Simon)
- observation of ritualistic cofradia practices
- learning about the Mayan calendar
- trip to an indigenous market
- 5:00 - 7:00 rest
- 7:00 dinner
